Essar Foundation was declared the recipient of best project in healthcare award at the CSR Conclave held at Bhubaneswar on January 17, 2014 organized by Think Media Inc. The award recognizes Essar Foundation’s healthcare initiatives in Keonjhar and Jagatsinghpur districts in Odisha. Mr Manoj Dash and Mr Niladri Parhi, representing Essar Foundation, presented papers on “CSR: A dynamic tool for stakeholder management” and “CSR and millennium development goals” respectively.
The conference had four structured sessions, at the end of which Mr Rajnikant Singh, Minister for Industry, Government of Odisha, gave away awards in several categories under CSR. Representatives of some of the top corporate houses including Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL), Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC), GMR, etc. were present at the conference. 
The community health center at Telkoi, the mobile medicare unit, the teleopthalmic vision center at Paradeep and the specialized health camps that the Foundation organizes at difficult-to-reach areas were the much lauded initiatives that got the Foundation this prestigious recognition.
