
In the CSR category, EBTL was one among 30 companies shortlisted for the final round of presentations on their respective CSR initiatives. The mangrove plantation project was highly appreciated by the jury. Head of the board Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, Director General and CEO, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, New Delhi (Ministry of Corporate Affairs) applauded the project’s contribution towards sustainable development, notably the use of GPS mapping for rigorous monitoring, and the involvement of local community, especially women in the project.
Mr Vikas Singh, Head HR & Admin, EBTL and Mr Vinod Pandey, Essar Foundation, EBTL Hazira received the award on behalf of EBTL. Senior delegates from major corporates of India, MNCs and senior officials from the government were present at the award ceremony. Other contenders and awardees in the same category included companies like Coal India, Tata Power, ONGC and GAIL.
