Essar Oil Ltd (EOL) bagged the Greentech CSR Award 2103 in Silver Category for its corporate social responsibility initiatives in Vadinar, Gujarat. The model anganwadi project implemented in Vadinar by Essar Foundation on behalf of EOL was selected as the award winning project. This project aims to transform the existing anganwadis into attractive, child-friendly and safe learning places for children. The transformation of open spaces, inner walls, outer elements and play area motivates the staff and parents equally; while children find them highly appealing and make full use of the spaces to learn with joy. This project has, in the past, received accolades from the district administration and people’s representatives, and has also been showcased in major events organized by the government.
The award was presented by Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, IAS (Retd.), DG & CEO, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India and Mr Kamaleshwar Sharan, President, Greentech Foundation. Mr Navdeep Singh, DGM, Essar Foundation received the award on behalf of EOL in a ceremony held in Chandigarh.
