Wellness goes beyond eating healthy and following a fitness regime. Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of and making choices towards a healthy and fulfilling life.
On the occasion of Global Wellness Day, which is celebrated on the second Saturday of June every year, to reiterate the importance of taking care of one’s health. On 13th and 14th June 2016, a series of fitness centric events were organised at the Essar, spanning all aspects of health and wellness.
Renowned experts from the industry delivered talks on nutrition, busting many a myth on health foods and diet regimes. Essarites were in for a grand surprise with the impromptu Yoga sessions that took place on the office floor. An instant hit with Essarites, many sportingly joined the instructor in practicing simple ‘Yogasanas’. Senior Leaders, too, benefited from one-to-one wellness consultations with “Doctor at Desk”. The power packed programme ended with an adrenalin high as Essarites overcame all inhibitions and grooved with great vigor to Bollywood style Zumba sessions.
The two-day wellness celebration served as a reminder to many Essarites that sometimes all it takes is a little motivation to commit to investing in your physical, mental and social well-being.
