Essar Foundation organizes eye camp at Vadinar

The Essar Foundation, as a part of its Essar Arogya (Health) scheme, organized an eye camp in Vadinar village, Gujarat, on October 2, 2011. The camp was held in Kandla Port Trust (KPT) Hospital, in collaboration with Khambhalia Block Health Centre, Guru Govind Singh Hospital, and Devdaya Charitable Trust, Wankaner.
 
A team of seven eye specialists, including a pediatric eye surgeon, provided their services to over 360 patients at the camp. Patients came in from 17 villages located around the venue. Several villagers were diagnosed with cataract, glaucoma and various other vision problems. Those suffering from immediately treatable conditions were given medication, free of cost; others were advised timelines and course of action for their medical conditions. Free spectacles were also provided to 150 patients.
