Essar Oilfield Services (EOSIL) received a Letter of Award (LOA) from KEI-RSOS Petroleum and Energy (KRPEL) for onshore drilling in the ONGC Rajahmundry Hydrocarbon block area, in the south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. KRPEL is the operator and executing contractor to ONGC (Oil & Natural Gas Commission) and is mandated to develop this onshore marginal gas field.
The work will involve drilling and completion of five wells, up to a depth of 4,000 meters, for KRPEL in the ONGC gas fields at Sirikattapalli, Magatapalli, Mulkipalli, Chintanapalli and Medapudu, in Andhra Pradesh. EOSIL's deep drilling land rig LR#3 will be deployed for this contract which is expected to last for 15 months. The 2,000HP LR#3 is already operating in this gas field, where it has been deployed for a two-well drilling project for contractor BG Shirke. The project is nearing completion.
Ankur Gupta, CEO-EOSIL, said, "As a growing drilling contractor, EOSIL is very pleased to be awarded this new contract. EOSIL was chosen due to its reputation for high quality service and its unblemished record of excellence in QHSE. This award is a testament of KRPEL's trust in EOSIL and its capabilities."
