The Mother and Child Care Center managed by Essar Foundation in Vadinar has been providing quality healthcare services to rural women and children. The availability of a pediatrician and a gynecologist made it convenient for pregnant and lactating mothers as well as children to avail specialized medical attention and counseling at the center. The additional services of an eye specialist and a dentist have been provided to the center starting on June 29, 2014. This day also marked the commencement of physical refurbishment of the center as well as a special awareness drive against communicable diseases.
Poonamben Maadam, the chief guest for the event and also the first woman member of Parliament from Jamnagar, announced the extension of healthcare services and revamping of the center. The day was marked by a mega health camp, which had a team of 21 specialized orthodontists, gynecologists, pediatricians and ophthalmologists providing diagnostic services and medication to hundreds of patients from across villages free of cost.

Ms Maadam also unveiled the first Annual CSR Report of Essar Oil Limited for the year 2013-14. She was felicitated for her leadership and accomplishments in the field of politics. Also felicitated for his immense contribution towards the development of Jamnagar was Dr PB Vasoya, President, District Panchayat Jamnagar. Dr Prashant Tanna (pediatrician), Dr Bijal Shalin Patel (gynecologist), Dr Puja Patel (dentist) and Dr DP Pandya (ophthalmologist) were also felicitated for dedicated and long term contribution towards their respective fields.
Senior officials from Essar Oil Limited and Indian Oil Corporation Limited, including the Director of Refinery Mr C Manoharan, Senior Vice President Mr Narada Singh and Mr Ranu Ram (Chief Operations Manager, IOCL) appreciated the efforts while committing to a joint collaboration to take the initiative further. Other officials included Mr RK Lodhi, Head, Environment, Mr K Motla, Head, CRG, EOL, along with the village heads (sarpanch) and people of Vadinar and Bharana villages respectively.
