Several businesses at Essar, report on their sustainability performance based on the internationally accepted reporting norms. These include one or more of the following:
- The Global Reporting Initiative’s Generation 3 and 4 guidelines(GRI G3.1, G4)
- GRI sector supplements;
- AA1000 APS 2008;
- Industry specific guidelines (e.g. world steel sustainability indicators, IPIECA/API/OGP Oil & Gas industry guidance on voluntary sustainability reporting) and
- The Global Compact principles
We believe that external assurance of our reports brings greater validity to our reports and strengthens and improves our reporting procedures and guidelines.
All our reports have been assured by a third party and a few of them are also checked by GRI for application level.
