On 28th July, an event celebrating World Nature Conservation Day was organised by Essar Foundation, in collaboration with Essar Power Madhya Pradesh Ltd. Almost 50 primary students from government schools in the Semua tola, Bandhaura and Singrauli areas of Madhya Pradesh participated.
In the first session, headmaster Baburam Sharma spoke on the importance of conserving nature. This was followed by a discussion on sustainable habits that each student can imbibe to do their bit for the environment. A sketching and painting session followed the discussion, where students were asked to created artworks on the theme of nature conservation.
Speaking both on behalf of faculty and students, Mr Sharma said, “Children must keep participating in such events where they get to express themselves openly on pertinent issues like conservation.”
