Essar Projects (India) Ltd, Neyveli site, received the prestigious Greentech Foundation Silver Award for Environment Management in the thermal sector. What makes this award special is that the EPIL Neyveli site is the only project that has received this award in the construction sector.
Every year, Greentech Foundation invites nominations from various sectors and recognises companies that demonstrate the highest level of commitment in environment management. Recently, EPIL got re-certified for its environment management system—from ISO14001:2004 to ISO14001:2015. This was achieved by adopting various environment friendly standards. In fact, EPIL is one of the few companies that has this certification in the construction sector.
The award was presented to by Shri Kamleshwar Sharan, Chairman & CEO, Greentech Foundation, and Shri RK Dubey, Chief Advisor & Conference Chairman, Greentech Foundation, at the 17th Sustainability Conference held at Bangalore on 2 February 2017. On behalf of Essar Projects, the award was received by Mr BVRSJ Nehru, Chief Project Director, and Mr Sudarshan Rao S, HSE Head, Neyveli site.
