Essar Bulk Terminal Paradip (EBTPL), was recognised for its Environment management practices at the 18th World congress on Environment Management, held in New Delhi, on 8th July, 2016. The event was organised by the non-profit Institute Of Directors. EBTPL was one of the 15 organisations that were declared winners out of nearly 400 nominations from across India.
The annual Golden Peacock Environment Management Award is a prestigious recognition is presented to organisations that have attained significant achievements in the area of environment management.
EBTPL was recognised for its achievements, such as:
- Developing an environment friendly culture at the facility through the involvement of employees and contractual work force.
- Carbon Management through plantation of 2,500 mangroves and saplings, covering the conveyor area, in a span of 3 years.
- Zero spillage and dust emission since 2013-14.
- Significant reduction in Power consumption, effectively leading to reduction of EBTPL’s carbon footprint.
