18th February, 2016, Mumbai: Mr Ashwini Saxena, Director of Programmes, was a panelist at the session on “How far should CSR go?” at the World CSR Congress, held in Mumbai recently.
He opined that it is the potential of corporates and their evolving role in the society that puts them in a position to decide their corporate social responsibility goals. In this context, the role of the regulatory authorities is to enable the private sector to contribute to the communities they engage with, and leverage their expertise with robust monitoring and evaluation.
Mr Saxena was also felicitated with the ‘Global CSR Leadership Award’ for his contribution in CSR during his tenure as General Manager (CSR) at Essar Infrastructure Zimbabwe Limited.
