Essar Steel Hazira and Essar Foundation organized a general health camp in the premises of Hazira Primary School on December 1, 2013 for people from nearby villages. Free general health checkup and eye checkup services were provided in the camp.
Patients were screened for primary illnesses including hypertension and blood sugar and provided necessary medication. Those requiring further examination and medical attention were asked to visit Care Nursing Hospital. The eye checkup service detected cataract and the need for vision correction in patients, especially the children and the elderly.
Patient data was collected for follow-up with secondary health care. Employee volunteers from Essar Steel actively supported the initiative.
