CSR Times, a monthly English publication organised the Pt Madan Mohan Malivya Awards on the 10th of September, 2015. Essar Foundation was conferred the Pt Madan Mohan Malaviya Bronze Award for the second time around at the event, which was organised at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The Awards were presented by Mrs Sheila Dixit, Ex- Chief Minister of Delhi, Mr PP Mohd Faisal, Hon’ble Member of Parliament and H E Mr Felix Ngoma, Ambasador of The Republic of Congo in India.
Essar Foundation was recognised and appreciated for its annual Edufest, Indradhanush - Shiksha Ke Saat Rang, an event that celebrates different ways of learning.
Indradhanush employs different tools like puppetry, cinema, story-telling, art and craft, etc. to encourage children to see learning as a fun activity, not a chore. This year’s Indradhanush was organised in February and took place in Vadinar at Devbhoomi Dwarka, a district in Gujarat. More than 3,000 children from 30 surrounding schools participated. A diverse range of organizations of national repute were also an integral part of Indradhanush, instrumental in opening up the world of activity based learning.
