12 April 2016, Bhubaneshwar: Essar Foundation was awarded for 'Best CSR Practices in Tribal Health and Community Welfare' at the Odisha CSR Summit 2016. The award was given for the comprehensive CSR programmes, which the Foundation has implemented in tribal-dominated Telkoi block of Keonjhar district.
The award was received by Mr Vikas Yadvendu, Head-CSR, Odisha operations. Mr Ashwini Saxena, Director-Programmes, Essar Foundation, also attended the event. The award was presented by Mr Debi Prasad Mishra, Industries Minister, School & Mass Education, Government of Odisha, and Dr Prasanna Kumar Patasani, MP, Bhubaneswar. Other dignitaries present were Mr Priyadarshi Mishra, MLA, Bhubaneshwar (North), and Mr Ananta Narayan Jena, Mayor, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation.
Business leaders, CSR heads, domain experts and academicians participated in a panel discussion on ‘CSR and Inclusive Growth’. The summit was organised by web channel OdishaLIVE in association with KIIT School of Rural Management.
