The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) recently initiated a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Mentorship Programme, under which the CII Gujarat State CSR Panel has been formed. This State Panel will help companies in developing their CSR plans, process, policies and other aspects needed to effectively implement CSR projects. The State CSR Panel will also guide companies in interpreting what ‘corporate social responsibility’ means under the Companies Act 2013, and its ramifications. Essar Foundation is one of the panel members.
As part of the establishment of the panel, a mentorship programme was organised on Essar premises. Representatives from over 30 companies participated to discuss their CSR experience. They shared common concerns around implementing CSR activities.
