Vadinar Oil Terminal (VOTL) was awarded for its commitment towards improving safety at the Lloyds List Awards for the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent for 2015.
Lloyd's List is the leading source of information for the maritime industry covering all sectors of the shipping world including tankers, containers, ports and dry bulk. Their annual Safety Award recognises companies that have demonstrated high safety standards in the maritime/shipping industry. The award celebrates safety innovation, investment in safety training and proven reductions in accident rates.
The judges recognised VOTL’s work in raising safety awareness and building a culture of safety in the premises. Reflecting on the achievement, Capt Deepak Sachdeva, CEO, VOTL, stated, “Our safety record is something we can all be proud of, something that sets us apart. However, what I would like to reiterate on this occasion is that we must not allow our pride in this achievement to turn into complacency. We must not shift our focus from ensuring that work is carried out in a safe manner. Congratulations, Team VOTL, for an excellent achievement. Keep up the good work.”
Echoing his sentiments, Capt Alok Kumar, Head, Marine Operations said, “Congratulations to all of us on winning the prestigious Lloyd’s List Award. We have a well-managed and highly motivated team working at VOTL. We all have what I would call ‘resolve’ with regard to safety performance and we have gained this fortitude because of our excellent performance. This is a result of the team spirit, open communications and a responsible attitude towards safety.”
