The workshop was held from May 1-5, 2015, at Vanita Vishram in Surat, Gujarat. Over 150 children from different parts of Surat district attended it. Focusing on the performing arts, vocational skills and sports, the five-day program invited qualified trainers with a proven record in training children with special needs. The kids were trained in various handicraft activities and were taken around on an exposure visit at the end of the workshop.
The workshop aimed at building capabilities in differently-abled children to improve their chances of being economically self-reliant in the future. It also boosted their confidence as they engaged in creative assignments and gave them a sense of accomplishment.
