The Essar Foundation organized a health check-up camp in Jamnagar (Gujarat) on April 22, 2012, for the benefit of a specific group of people – employed professional – who are typically prone to certain types of diseases.
Accordingly, the health camp included procedures like ECG, chest X-rays and tests for checking cholesterol, lipid profile, triglycerides and creatinine levels in blood. Other routine examinations, such as eye tests and dental check-ups, were also available for spouses, children and other members of their families.
At the inauguration function, the audience was advised on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle; they also received inputs on coping with new-age lifestyle-related illnesses. The camp, which was held at Samarpan Hospital, Jamnagar, saw the attendance of close to 150 families.
The camp is an extension of the Foundation's community health initiative, which has been offering services to more than 17 villages around our Vadinar facility, touching the lives of more than 200,000 people in the last decade.
