On July 16, 2012, the HR team of the Essar Steel Pune Facility (ESPF), organized
a visit for the members of the ESPF Employee Credit Co-operative
Society to Jeevan Jyoti Vasatigruh, Kothrud, Pune city, a hostel for mentally challenged adults run by a local NGO.
The team sponsored dinner that day, and volunteered to serve the meal to the residents.
During the Annual General Meeting of the Society, it
was decided that while distributing dividends, a share of the Society's
profits would be earmarked for some form of service to the community.
