Acknowledging the need for a Resource Center for local adolescent girls, Essar Foundation inaugurated a TEEN Circle under Project Udaan, an association of girls in their teens at Balidia villages in Jagatsinghpur district on 15 October 2015. The Circle aims to facilitate social, psychological and physical development of adolescent girls through recreational activities.
Mr. Mithilesh Thakur, General Manager, Essar Steel India Ltd., was the Chief Guest for the programme. Mr. Debjyoti Samanata, a local leader was also present along with the Essar Foundation’s team members.
The Circle will offer counseling to young girls on issues associated with their physical, social, emotional and moral well-being. The Circle will also provide adolescent girls with opportunities for skills enhancement through basic vocational training and career development activities.
