In line with its philosophy of improving the quality of life of the communities living in and around its area of operations, Essar Foundation, along with Essar Power, MP limited, partnered with the local health department, to organise a health check-up camp.
The camps were set up in Bandhaura, Khairahi, Nagwa and Karsualal villages, in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh. These health camps started from 29th of April in Bandhaura and ended on the 13th of April in Nagwa, with one day devoted to the medical needs of each village. A total of 561 patients benefitted from these series of health camps.
Two doctors, two pharmacists, one opthalmologist and a lab technician, together conducted the tests at the camp. The camp focused on spreading awareness about the precautions that the attendees needed to take in the hot summer months, and also educated the community regarding the different free services which are provided by the Department of Health. Free medicines were also distributed at the camp, and some patients were referred to district hospitals for further care.
The heads of each village participated in the camp, and also requested that such camps be organised once in the rainy months and once again in winter.
