Essar Oil UK (EOUKL) donated several pumps to TTE, the Ellesemere Port training provider based in New Bridge Road. TTE was set up in 1990 as a strategic training provider. It has since then grown to become North West England's leading provider of Level 3 apprenticeships in Engineering and Laboratory Operations. All-round development is also incorporated into the training. Essar currently has 68 apprentices who are undergoing a three year training program at TTE.

"Having good equipment to work on obviously makes the learning as real as possible, within a controlled environment, so it’s essential for good development,” explains Mr John Blunden, Head of Maintenance, EOUKL. "We invited the TTE trainers to select any equipment from the unit which they deemed suitable, got the Essar technicians and phase 3 TTEs to remove the kit, strip it down, clean, overhaul and paint it to be taken back as new, which was a great exercise in itself."

Commenting on the gesture, Ms Anne Cannon, Training and Delivery Manager, TTE, said "We at TTE are grateful to Essar for the kind donation of this equipment which we will fully integrate into our delivery of 'real' process and engineering training to our young learners."
