Essar Foundation organised an inter-school quiz competition in Surat district’s Choryasi Taluka. The preliminary stages were held within the span of a month across various government schools in the district. The quiz competition was for students from classes 4th to 8th could participate. On 30th October, 2015 the finals were organised at the community hall in Kawas Gram Panchayat of Choryasi taluka. The finals saw 15 teams from nine schools and from classes 4th to 8th, compete for the title. The winning teams were felicitated with a trophy while other teams that made it to the finals were given consolation prizes.
Essar Foundation with Essar Bulk Terminal Limited (EBTL) Hazira has introduced several school-level activities, like the Green Walk, Students’ Council, and Learning is Fun workshops, in schools of 12 villages in the vicinity. The objective of introducing these creative activities is to promote holistic education among schoolchildren.
