Essar Foundation won the Platinum Category award at the Energy and Environment Foundation Global CSR Awards, held on 17th February, 2017, in New Delhi. The award was given by a group of dignitaries comprising, Mr SK Srivastava, Former Secretary, Coal, Government of India, Dr VK Garg, Former CMD, Power Finance Corporation Ltd, Mr Alok Perti, Former Secretary, Coal, Government of India, and Dr Anil Garg, CEO, Energy And Environment Foundation. The Awards are given as a recognition to organizations that are adding value in their chosen geographies through excellence in CSR.
The Foundation was also declared the winner of the Fame Excellence Awards 2017, in the category ‘Education Excellence - CSR Project’, and was given the Diamond Award for its various educational initiatives, namely, Indradhanush – Shiksha ke saat rang. This award was conferred to Essar Foundation at an event held in New Delhi on 12th February, 2017. In attendance were former Union Minister, Mr Oscar Fernandes and a senior political leader from Delhi, Dr Narender Nath. FAME INDIA is a non-profit organization which recognizes and honours the individuals and organizations for their outstanding contribution in the field of National Economic and Social Development.
