The Vadinar refinery Health, Safety, Environment and Fire (HSEF) team, together with the Essar Foundation, organized traffic and fire safety programs in the primary schools of Vadinar and Zakhar villages. The initiative by the HSEF department was part of the Gujarat government's Traffic Safety Awareness Month.
These particular schools were chosen because of their proximity to the main road, which makes the children more vulnerable to road mishaps. The HSEF team interacted with the children, throwing light on the various measures to be followed in ensuring traffic and fire safety.
The children were shown a presentation related to traffic safety and documentaries. A live fire-fighting demonstration by the Fire Safety team captured the attention of the children and the teachers. As a token, a medical kit was presented to each of the school principals to encourage safe practices in school. A total of 400 children, along with their teachers, participated in the programs.
