Health is a strong thrust area for the Essar Foundation and the Foundation continuously strives to provide preventive and curative health care services to the local community.
Extending the scope of its programs, and as a measure of preventive health care services, the Foundation organized a vaccination camp in Hazira (Gujarat) on August 22, 2012. The vaccination camp included outbreak resistance immunization (ORI), diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTP), Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG), polio and vitamin A drops, and tetanus (TT) shots. Children were also given de-worming doses.
The camp, which was held at the Public Health Centre had around 200 families attend the camp.
The Foundation, through its community health initiatives, has been offering health services to the villages around the Hazira plant. These initiatives have touched the lives of more than 5,000 people in the last decade.
