The Essar Foundation organized a free health camp, on March 3, 2012, for the local community near the Essar Paradip facility.
Specialists from Paediatrics, Surgery,
Dental, Audiology and a general physician was part of the multidisciplinary team that offered expert medical advice to the people who thronged the camp. Two experienced paramedics checked
blood sugar, blood pressure and administered first aid.
Minor procedures were also performed at the health camp, in addition to the distribution of free medicines to patients. A team of three pharmacists was available to attend to patients who were to collect medicines as prescribed by the specialists.
A team of 16 volunteers from Essar Paradip joined their colleagues from the Foundation to assist patients through registration, consultation and medicine provision processes. The health camp attracted over 250 people from nearby villages and colonies.
