Ahmedabad: Essar Foundation in association with the district panchayat will develop 25 modern pre-schools called 'Nandghar' at aanganwadi centres located at 15 villages around Essar Oil's refinery at Vadinar, said a company statement.
Nandghar is a Gujarat government project for aanganwadis, which will have the existing structure remodelled into a child friendly space, both inside and outside and made attractive through the use of mural paintings, pictorial depiction of stories, alphabets and numbers on walls, and other interesting learning aides.
"I am happy to see that Essar has come forward to work in association with the government of Gujarat to provide children in villages with such delightful, clean, colourful and modern-day environment for their early education. I am sure that more such projects will be taken up by Essar Foundation so as to provide education to as many children as possible in all the surrounding villages," said Ila Rana, district programme officer of Integrated Child Development Scheme.
