The 500MW Bhander Power plant, Hazira has been awarded a Prashansa Patra (certificate of appreciation), in the power generation category by the National Safety Council (NSC) India. NSC is an autonomous body set up by the Government of India, Ministry of Labour and Employment. About 100 organisations were in the fray for the award and Bhander Power was one of the four non-nuclear power plants who received this award on the occasion.
Mr Shailendra Rathore, Head – Operations, Bhander Power, accepted the award on behalf of the company at a function held at New Delhi on October 4, 2013. The award was presented by Mr Arun Kumar Sinha (IAS), Additional Secretary - Ministry of Labour & Employment.
Bhander Power has already completed 3,474 LTI (lost time incident)-free man days. Such excellent safety performance is achieved through highest level of commitment to safety by every member of the team.
