Essar Foundation and Essar Steel Vizag award scholarships to students

Adding momentum to its focus on encouraging meritorious students, Essar Foundation with the support of Essar Steel India Limited, Vizag operations, organized a scholarship program for the first time in Badapadar village in Malkangiri district, Odisha.


During the event, 61 students from classes 4 to 10, from 10 villages were awarded scholarships for exceptional academic performance.  Most of the students belong to tribal communities from villages known for being remote and inaccessible.

Headmasters and teachers from the students’ schools also participated in the event. The Sarpanch of Badapadar village, Mr Jayram Khara and Mr Duryodhan Sethi from the Government Education Department in Chitrakonda gave the scholarships to the students.

This event was part of Essar’s commitment towards social development. Essar Foundation will continue extending support to meritorious students by offering periodic scholarships from the region.
