Education has always been a focus point for the Essar Foundation. The Foundation
is committed to improving the reading and learning levels of children attending rural schools and undertakes a number of activities in the area of innovative learning.
On July 27, 2012, 12 Essarites came together to volunteer their time to create effective visual aids to be used as learning materials in Essar Foundation-supported schools. The volunteers assembled at the Mahalaxmi cafeteria at the Mumbai office and picked books they considered interesting reads for the children. They then worked on creating stick puppets based on the books' themes and characters.
