Essar Bulk Terminal Paradip (EBPTL) has been awarded Integrated Management Systems (IMS) certification, for implementation of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards, by Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass). U Venkata Rao, CEO, EBTPL, received the Certificate of Approval for IMS, from SS Sengupta, Head Technical, IRClass, at a ceremony held in Paradip, Odisha, on July 16, 2015.
ISO 9001 is a standard for Quality Management Systems, while ISO 14001 is related to Environmental Management systems and OHSAS 18001, to Occupational Health and Safety Management systems. The whole implementation process of Operation and Maintenance at EBTPL was audited and certified by the certification agency.
EBPTL commissioned its 16 MTPA state-of-art, fully automated and mechanized iron ore loading terminal CQ3 at the Paradip Port, in December 2012. The Terminal’s operations are backed with two 2,500 TPH (tonnes per hour) Re-claimers and a 4,500 TPH Ship loader at the port site, and a 9.3 km material conveyor system which links the CQ3 terminal to the Essar Steel Pellet Facility at Paradip. The scope of the IMS certification covers, “Providing Port handling services, Re-claiming cargo in the yard, Conveying and Loading on to the Vessel at CQ-III Berth and On-board supervision”.
