Taking its mission towards Million Hours of Employee Volunteering further, Essar Foundation hosted its twenty first volunteering initiative on May 25, 2014, at the Nand Niketan township.  Several coordinators across various sub-departments of the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), Government of Gujarat, also participated in the initiative.

The resource person for the workshop was Ms Rani Kaur from Hobby Ideas, Ahmedabad, who is in the field of developing and teaching various craft forms for the past 20 years. Ms Kaur has been the former state level trainer of Pidilite for Gujarat and Rajasthan, and was in charge of developing innovative crafts from various Pidilite products.

Teaching toy making to the ICDS coordinators was a step towards spreading the craft to the aanganwaadi workers, who in turn can pass it on to children, towards promoting activity based learning. Several volunteers contributed 125 volunteering hours, thus bringing the total volunteering hours in the location to 2,638. So far, 423 volunteers across businesses have contributed to the overall Million Hours initiative.
