The Essar Foundation’s Aarogya scheme has been benefiting more than 40,000 people each month over the last five years across 10 villages surrounding the Vadinar refinery in Gujarat.

The services include a Mobile Health Van (MHV), OPD consultations, free medicines, and qualified doctors.

Intending to extend further services, Essar Foundation flagged off a new medical van on July 10, 2012, that will serve four more villages around the Essar power plant, starting from Vadalia Sihan. With this extension, the Mobile Health Van (MHV) initiative will now reach out to total 14 villages, thus touching more than 50,000 people around Essar business operations in the Salaya-Vadinar area.

Senior officials from Essar, Mr. Mayank Doshi, Mr. Bijay Panda, Mr. Ashvin Patil and Mr. Navdeep Singh were present for the flag off. After the Flag-off ceremony, a general health camp was organized, where more than 150 patients availed of free diagnoses and medicines.
