On the eve of National Girl Child Day 2016, Essar Foundation and Essar Steel organised a one-day orientation at the Government Higher Secondary School in Kirandul, Dantewada district, Chhattisgarh.
While the theme for this year is Save the Girl Child, the programme aimed at creating awareness about the rights of girl children. The students were given a presentation that focussed on various relevant issues, and highlighted the necessity of ensuring equal rights for girls in education and career. The students later staged a play on the subject.
The event was attended by 155 students and 20 teachers.
